About Ben:
Benjamin Eiland, MA, CATC IV, has been in the chemical dependency treatment and mental health field for over 45 years, with 48 years in personal recovery.
He graduated from California State University Chico with a double major in Anthropology and Psychology, finished the course work in a Masters in Public Administration and received a Masters in Organizational Psychology from J.F.K. University.
He has been an educator in the field of addictive disorders since 1979, holding positions as adjunct professor at College of San Mateo Addiction Studies Program for the last 22 years and the coordinator and instructor for the California State University East Bay Addiction Studies Program.
Ben held positions as an executive director, program manager and clinical director as well as being a counselor in a number of substance abuse treatment programs in the Bay Area.
His approach to the treatment of Substance Abuse Disorders has been the Bio/Psycho/Social and Spiritual Recovery. He considers himself a Seeker and through that Seeking he has explored a variety of ways for a person to find Spiritual recovery, and fill the “Hole in their Soul” that addiction and trauma left.
After all these years, he is still passionate about working with addictive disorders and educating those who choose to follow this path.
